2019: By The Numbers

Happy New Year everyone!  We took a few moments (many moments actually) to pull some high level stats about the top performers on CraftCellr in 2019.  This is our second year pulling our aggregated stats across all our brewery partners nationwide. A couple key insights that stood out to us in 2019:

  • Memberships are becoming an integral part of the our brewery partner's businesses. While they can be a pain to manage without the proper platform, memberships provide more solutions than problems:

    • A stream of fixed revenue paid in advance of the membership, giving you working capital to reinvest in your business

    • A percentage of your production capacity is reserved for members, reducing pressures placed on your operations, sales, and taproom employees to move additional product

    • An opportunity to create unique brand engagements with your most loyal customers, resulting in consumer evangelism and increased taproom revenues

  • Pre-sales for can and bottle releases continues to grow across the country and consumers are coming to expect these conveniences.

  • 16oz 4-packs and large bottle formats (500ml & 750 ml) continue to dominate the best selling packaging types for taproom releases.

Top 15 Beer Styles

80 total beer styles were offered on CraftCellr in 2019.  We broke down the percentage of total revenue generated by the top 15 styles:

  1. Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout (15.9%)

  2. Hazy IPA (14%)

  3. Barrel-Aged Imperial Porter (9.9%)

  4. Hazy Double IPA (8.7%)

  5. Imperial Stout (7.1%)

  6. IPA (5.7%)

  7. Sour Ale (4.7%)

  8. Fruited Sour (3%)

  9. Imperial Milk Stout (2.9%)

  10. Barrel-Aged Imperial Milk Stout (2.8%)

  11. Imperial Pastry Stout (2.1%)

  12. American Wild Ale (2%)

  13. Hazy Triple IPA (1.9%

  14. Berliner Weisse (1.8%

  15. Barrel-Aged Sour Ale (1.5%)

Top 5 Packaging Styles

13 different styles of packaging were offered on CraftCellr in 2019.  We broke down the percentage of total revenue generated by the top 5 packaging styles:

  1. 4-Pack 16oz Cans (45.4%)

  2. 750ml Bottle (22.9%)

  3. 500ml Bottle (20.5%)

  4. 6-Pack 12oz Cans (4.6%)

  5. 4-Pack 12oz Cans (2.2%)

Top 5 Offer Types

5 different offer types were utilized on CraftCellr in 2019.  We broke down the percentage of total revenue generated by each type:

  1. Memberships (48.3%)

  2. Release Pre-Sales (45.7%)

  3. Events  (5%)

  4. Bundles  (0.9%)

  5. Merchandise (0.1%)
