As Coronavirus continues to spread and uncertainty has become the norm, we have been amazed at the response from the craft beverage industry. It is clear the this industry puts the safety of its customers and staff above all else.
Times like these require everyone to think creatively. The next few weeks/months are going to be extremely challenging. That’s where we can help! Over the past couple of days we have had numerous conversations with breweries looking to innovate and we’d like to share one idea in particular that we think can be a game changer for your business.
Online Sales + Drive Through Pick Ups
With social distancing being recommended by the WHO, CDC, and local governments, many taprooms have decided to close temporarily. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that they have to stop selling…
Two of CraftCellr’s partners, Resident Culture (Charlotte, NC) and Energy City (Chicago, IL), are moving to a drive through model, where their customers can pre-order cans and crowlers via the CraftCellr app and then pick them up in the safety of their own cars via an on-site drive through at the brewery.
Judging by the comments on Instagram, customers are stoked and appreciative of the ingenuity. Here are a few reasons why we think this is one hell of an idea for everyone involved:
Eliminate the exchange of cash or credit card for onsite payment
Maintain social distancing practices by allowing customers to show the app right from their cars to claim their order (FYI, here are the CDC’s social distancing guidelines)
Prevent customers from needing to line up or assemble in the taproom
Keep your taproom staff safe, allowing them to simply hand over an order or place it in the trunk of each car
As with any new initiative, please double check that it meets the rules and regulations of your state and local government.
**At CraftCellr, we’d like to try and do our part. For any new breweries, meaderies, or distilleries who want to protect their customers and staff, we are offering our pre-sales platform for free through the end of April.
